RUTS Policy: No Illegal Fishery Products in Our Campus
November 8, 2022
Indicator 14.3.2
Illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing has any negative environmental, economic and social impacts, including contributing to overfishing and threatening the sustainability of legal fisheries. South East Asia is a hotspot for IUU, but it happens all over the world. As a result, a multi-sector approach is required to prohibit the products harvested using IUU fishing. Through our policies and operations, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) is committed to achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The following RUTS policy for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has been announced as Illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing that has created negative environmental, economic, and social impacts, as well as threatened fisheries during the spawning season, has to be prohibited. Thus, RUTS has the policy to ensure that food on campus that comes from aquatic ecosystems is harvested in a sustainable manner.
